The first in the NORTH ATLANTIC
CHRONICLES SERIES, the ships of PQ-17 are under attack by the Ju-88
bombers of III/KG-30 based at Bardufoss, Norway. In early 1942,
Hajo Hermann (father of the German night fighters "Wild
Boar" tactics) was assigned as the commander of III/KG-30,
attacking arctic convoys from Norway, including the infamous attack on
Convoy PQ-17.
