Wing commander Douglas Bader is seen looping his Spitfire IIa in a dogfight off the French coast in 1941. Baders' aircraft had been painted many times but, after new and extensive research, this painting is the first to show that Baders' personal Spitfire IIa P7966 bore nose art similar to that carried on his 242 Sqdn. Hurricane.
