The
Kaiser's Battle, by Stan Stokes
The Kaiser's Battle:
In 1918 Germany launched an all-out offensive on the
Western front designed to end the war before the full
impact of America's entry came to bear. Known as the
Kaiser's Battle, this offensive used formations of
special attack aircraft known as
"schachstasffein". The Hannover CL IIIa was an
ideal ground attack platform, and was widely used during
the huge offensive. In this painting, a Hannover attacks
a group of counter attacking British tanks. (11.5 x 16) $40.
