Developed by the Boeing Company during World War II from its successful B-29 Super-Fortress to meet the needs fro long range air transport, the Stratocruiser became a symbol of post-war civil aviation. Robert Taylor's nostalgic painting, shows Clipper Morning Star N1042V flying serenely over the distinctive Manhattan skyline in 1952.
